Self-Guided West End Archery Elk - 'Raghorn' Bull

| LEGAL ELK/BAG LIMIT: | A legal 'Raghorn Bull' is a bull elk having no broken points or antler beams that displays a maximum of four (4) points on either antler beam. The end or terminating tip, of the main antler beam is counted as one (1) of the maximum four (4) points. One (1) 'Raghorn Bull' per tag. |

| PERMIT AVAILABILITY: | 'Raghorn Bull' Archery Bull Elk tags will be sold on a first-come-first-served basis (subject to preceding Hunt Unit limits), beginning July 23, 2007 at the W&ORD Office in Whiteriver. Official application forms are available online, by mail or fax. Applications must be hand delivered to the W&ORD Office in Whiteriver. Phoned in, faxed or mailed applicatons will not be accepted. Applicants may purchase a maximum of three (3) tags. If applicants are unable to purchase tags in person, they maybe purchased via proxy. W&ORD staff members may not purchase or reserve these tags for anyone. |
| LEGAL TAKING DEVICE: |
Any legal bow and arrow as described in R1.B. of the WMAT Hunting Regulations. Section R1.B ELK ii. Bows having a standard pull of 50 or more pounds using arrow with metal broadheads having no less than 7/8-inch width cutting edges. Mechanical boradheads of any type (broadheads having hinged/rotating blades) are prohibited. |
| UNITS OPEN TO HUNTING: | Units 9 & 11. Detailed maps of the hunting area will be available at the W&ORD office in Whiteriver. |
| SPECIAL REGULATIONS: | I. IF
YOU WERE BORN AFTER DECEMBER 31,1960 YOU MUST
PRESENT PROOF OF HAVING SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED AN APPROVED BASIC
HUNTER SAFETY COURSE AT APPLICATION. II. ALL 'RAGHORN' BULL HUNTERS MUST CHECK IN AT A W&ORD CHECK STATION AT THE COMPLETION OF THEIR HUNT, REGARDLESS OF THE OUTCOME OF THEIR HUNT. HUNTERS WHO FAIL TO COMPLY WITH THE MANDATORY CHECKIN, BY THE COMPLETION OF THE SEASON, WILL AUTOMATICALLY BE CITED AND PROSECUTED. CHECK STATIONS WILL BE LOCATED AT THE HON-DAH SKI & OUTDOOR SHOP SEVEN (7) DAYS A WEEK 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, AND AT THE W&ORD OFFICE IN WHITERIVER MONDA THROUGH FRIDAY 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM. III. PERSONS ENTERING THE RODEOSe/CHEDISKI BURN AREA FOR THE PURPOSE OF HUNTING DO SO AT THEIR OWN RISK. IT IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED THAT PERSON HUNTING THIS AREA UTILIZE THE HIGHEST POSSIBLE GROUND FOR INGRESS, EGRESS AND PARKING. DUE TO THE POTENTIAL FOR FLASH FLOODING, PERSONS ENTERING THIS AREA FOR THE PURPOSE OF HUNTING SHOULD CONSTANTLY BE AWARE OF CURRENT AND POTENTIAL WEATHER CONDITIONS AND PLAN THEIR TRAVEL ROUTES ACCORDINGLY. THE W&ORD ASSUMES NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY PROPERTY LOSS, DAMAGE OR BODILY HARM INCURRED IN THIS AREA. IV. Valid West End Archery 'Raghorn' Elk tag holders may also purchase a Mountain Lion Depredation Combination Permit. See section G8.B for details. V. Valid West End Archery General Elk tag holders may also purchase and Elk Season - Turkey Combination permit. See section G6.B for more details. |
