WILDLIFE & OUTDOOR RECREATION DIVISION
GUIDED - MERRIAMS TURKEY HUNT
Our 1.6 million acre Reservation is teeming with Merriams Turkey, which are typically found in the mid to high elevation woodland and forest habitats. Twenty-pound birds having long beards are the norm, with many turkey populations on the reservation having never been exposed to hunter calling.
Each year, the Wildlife & Outdoor Recreation Division offers fully-outfitted Spring Gobbler hunts during the mid-to-late April time frame. In every way, these hunts are just as exciting as our world famous elk hunts, and are conducted out of three camps used for our Trophy Elk hunts (Sunrise, Maverick and Cibecue). We generally book a total of 60 clients each year at time that coincides with the peak of the Turkey "gobbling" season.
