GUIDED - MANAGEMENT & CULL BULL ELK HUNTS

ADDITIONAL GUIDED ELK HUNTS - MANAGEMENT & CULL BULL ELK HUNTS (CULL BULL HUNTS ARE AVAILABLE FOR HUNTERS WHO HAVE BOOKED FOR THE TROPHY ELK HUNT AND/OR THEIR GUEST).

GUIDED - MANAGEMENT ELK HUNTS

The Management Bull Elk Hunt provides clients the unique opportunity to harvest a great management bull while hunting the world-famous White Mountain Apache Indian Reservation during the rut. A "Management Bull" is defined as a "mature 5x5's (no scoring maximum or minimum) and palmated or deformed bulls". These hunts are conducted out of the three Trophy Elk Camps at the same time as our Trophy Hunts to take advantage of the rut. The cost of these hunts is $5000 and includes the same amenities as the trophy hunt (food, lodging, guide, and tags). This is a difficult hunt and a management bull is not east to find. The hunter will see many huge elk before finding a bull that qualifies as a "management bull".

SEASON DATES: September 1 through October 5, 2008.
LEGAL ELK/BAG LIMIT: One (1) Antlered elk meeting W&ORD " Management Bull Elk Guidelines", as determined by a W&ORD guide.
LEGAL MANAGEMENT BULL: A legal management bull is a MATURE bull that displays no more than 5 points per side on both beams or a bull that has 2 deformed main beams commonly called palmated or deformed.  For more information see the Management Bull Elk Guidelines available through the W&ORD office.
NUMBER OF PERMITS: 30
PACKAGE COST: $5,000.00
LEGAL TAKING DEVICE: Any legal firearm or bow and arrow as described in Section R1.B

Section R1.B ELK

i.     Center fire rifles having a caliber of .243 or greater.  For RIFLE caliber restrictions and MUZZLE LOADER requirements during the Guided Hunts, contact W&ORD Office

ii.    Bows having a standard pull of 50 or more pounds using arrow with metal broadheads having no less than 7/8-inch width cutting edges.  Mechanical boradheads of any type (broadheads having hinged/rotating blades are prohibited).

iii.    Center fire handguns and handguns of caliber not less than .44 Magnum.

 
UNITS OPEN TO HUNTING: Sunrise Camp -  Units 1,2 and 3

Maverick Camp - Units 4,5,6 and 7

West End Camp - Units 9,10,11 and 12
HUNT PACKAGE: Fully guided/outfitted 7-day hunt, booked through the W&ORD Office which includes; tag/permit, lodging, meals, guide and hunt transportation.
SPECIAL REGULATIONS: I.     A Mountain Lion or Black Bear tag, up to a maximum of 2 tags for each species per hunter may be purchased for $500.00 per tag.  See Guided-Mountain Lion and Guided-Black Bear web pages respectively for information regarding legal Mountain Lions and legal Black Bears.

PACKAGE COST: $500.00
LEGAL TAKING DEVICE: Any legal firearm or bow and arrow as described in Section R1.B
