Hurricane Lake is located adjacent to the southern boundary of the Mount Baldy Wilderness in the southeast portion of the Reservation. You may be familiar with Hurricane's reputation as a trophy trout fishery, which is now available to you and your group on an absolutely exclusive basis through private rental.
Hurricane Lake was previously managed as a "Special Fishing Area". Through the Rent-A-Lake program, we are now offering an exclusive fishing and camping experience at this pristine and secluded high-elevation lake that continues to be managed as a trophy Apache Trout fishery. When you tire of fishing the Apache trout (or if the catching part gets slow), you are within easy traveling distance to other top-notch lakes such as Reservation, Drift Fence and Pacheta Lakes that offer a variety of trout species. Fishing and boat permits are provided as a part of your lake rental, and can be used on any general access fishing water on the Reservation.
- Bag limits for Hurricane Lake: One (1) 16 inch or longer fish/day/person (same limit for juveniles and adults). Artificial flys and lures only, single pronge hook.
- Rental Charge for Hurricane Lake: $300/day.
- Hurrican Lake reservations are limited to maximum of fifty (50) people/day.
- Possession Limit is twice the daily bag limit.
